Prudhoe North councillor Angie Scott is calling on Northumberland County Council fix the potholes in the car park at the Riverside Park

She said: “Prudhoe is proud of our Riverside and many individuals, families, cyclists, runners and tourists enjoy it. We are soon to re-open the cafe but the car park remains full of potholes.

“Potholes can cause major damage to tyres, suspension and exhausts and put people off people parking there.

“The council, as the owner of the car park, has known about the existence of these potholes and has failed to act to make the area safe.

“Therefore as well as being unsightly and deterring people the council may be liable for claims for damage.

“I will be calling on council officials to address this as a matter of urgency.

“It’s vital this issue is sorted sooner rather than later.”
