Northumberland Labour, and Lynemouth councillor Liz Dunn in particular, are making sure the Lynemouth landfill issue is not forgotten by the council’s Tory leadership.

Councillors Scott Dickinson and Liz Dunn have received a very comprehensive progress report from one of the council’s officers. They are both very grateful to have this update which shows how committed council officers are to addressing the problem which has been a blight on the Lynemouth beach for years.

Liz Dunn said: “I totally understand that addressing theses issues is very complex. Lots of people and organisations are involved but I’m determined to keep going until it is properly addressed. The site is an absolute eyesore as well as being dangerous.”

Leader Scott Dickinson said: “We know that addressing these issues is long and arduous but I’d like to pay tribute to Liz for keeping on top of this.

“It’s very easy for the council to let it drift to the bottom of their to do list. Our job in representing local people is to make sure it doesn’t fall off the list.”
