Prudhoe North councillor Angie Scott is appealing to the MP for Tynedale and Ponteland to help address a development site in the town which is both an eyesore and a health risk.

Councillor Scott said: “The site at the corner of Cranbrook Drive and Western Avenue has been in this state for six years.

“I’m aware that local residents have been campaigning tirelessly but, despite their best efforts to work with the statutory bodies by logging and reporting these issues and my approaches since taking up my role as county councillor for Prudhoe North in May 2021, no action has been taken.

“Changes in legislation mean Northumberland County Council has the authority to be more pro-active in helping sort out this absolute blight.

“I have written to Guy Opperham MP, our senior representative in government, and asked him for help.

“We need action as a matter of urgency.”
