Northumberland Labour says Labour’s proposed Take Back Control Act will put power back into the hands of local people.

Leader Scott Dickinson said: “Living in a county which is far away from the decision-making capital is not serving people in Northumberland. Labour is on a mission of national renewal; for change, for a new Britain and for hope.

“I am delighted to hear that the next Labour government will give communities control of their own future. Our Take Back Control Bill will provide powers in areas such as employment, transport housing, climate change, childcare provision and skills put where it belongs; in the hands of local people. It will be the biggest transfer of power from Westminster in British political history.

“The Take Back Control Act is about showing the country that politics can be a force for good, bringing real lasting change in how and where the country is run.

“We cannot go on with the country and the people who live here being ground down because the government is not serving them as they should.

“Labour wants to see a decade of national renewal and the economy and politics people in Britain deserve.”
