The Tory government can no longer be trusted with the economy, says Northumberland Labour.

Leader Scott Dickinson said: ”The economic record of this Tory government is shocking. It’s even more shocking when we have been led to believe that it’s the Conservatives who can be trusted with the economy.

“The UK is the only G7 economy that is still smaller than its pre-Covid level. It’s also being forecast to have the lowest growth rate over the next two years, behind countries like Italy and Greece. Thirteen years of Tory failure are holding this country back. They can blame it on the pandemic; they can blame it on the war in Ukraine but in reality it’s they who are to blame.

“Labour has plans to put the country back on its feet again by ensuring more goods and services are made, sold and bought in Britain and we create jobs and help the climate making homes greener and cleaner.

“Families are asking if they are better of with the Tories. The answer is no, they’re not. We want everyone to share the resources of the amazing country and make sure they and their families thrive in the future.”
