A project to protect the residents of Ingram Drive in Cowpen, Blyth, has been funded from the local councillor’s small schemes budget.

Councillor Margaret Richardson was responding to the concern of local residents who are worried about flood risk in their local area.

Councillor Richardson said: “As a town and county councillor I was listening to the concerns of residents and it was clear that this flood relief project was a priority for them.

“I used my small schemes budget to pay for the Ingram Drive relief of flooding project . It’s very helpful to have funds to be able to respond to these kinds of issues. It means we can get things done quickly and locally.

“I am really pleased that the project has gone ahead, providing residents with the protection they were looking for.”
