Northumberland Labour leader Scott Dickinson said Hexham-based business giant Egger is a valued contributor to the local economy.

His remarks follow a visit to Egger and a meeting with business leaders about what a Labour led county council would do to support business in the future.

Scott Dickinson said: “Egger has very ambitious plans for the future and I was delighted to be able to tour the plant and look at the exciting ways they operate, use waste and act in a sustainable way.

“They are a great example of a sustainable, responsible, family run business and exactly the sort of business Labour wants to see in years to come who provide local employment and make and sell their products in the UK.

“I was delighted to find out more about their excellent work.”
