Northumberland Labour says the Tory government, supposedly the party of law and order, are letting people down.

Councillor Alex Wallace said: “For a party that supposed be the party of law and order, this Tory government is failing on a grand scale.

“The backlog in trials mean perpetrators are getting off scot-free while victims are having to wait years to get justice.

“Labour will make law and order a priority, making Britain’s street safer by preventing crime, punishing criminals and protecting communities.

“We’ll do this by putting more neighbourhood police on the streets, bringing in tougher sentences for anti social behaviour and working with communities to stop young people being drawn into crime in the first place.

“People need and deserve a safe place to live. Northumberland Labour will work tirelessly to make sure that our beautiful county is the very best and safest place to live.”
